This home belonged to generations of Shinto priests, and the guesthouse was created from a wish to preserve their grandparents’ memories and to share the calm spirit of this place. Please enjoy a peaceful and timeless stay in the mountains of Ena, Gifu.
Located in Iiji, Ena City — about one hour from Magome-juku and Tsumago-juku on the historic Nakasendo Trail.

Set in a tranquil village surrounded by cypress forests and terraced rice fields, the house features open engawa hallways, classic Japanese and Western common rooms, and a private shrine dedicated to the deities of Mount Ontake right on the grounds. Upon request, guests can experience morning meditation accompanied by incense and the gentle vibrations of a singing bowl, or simply wake up in quiet reflection as sunlight filters through paper shoji screens.

Here, time moves softly in rhythm with the changing seasons. Take a short stroll to admire the terraced fields and rolling hills, or relax on the engawa to watch low-lying clouds drift gracefully over the mountains.
